Save the Coconuts!
Walking for Breast Cancer
About Us
Marie Dall'Acqua, a well known Eastport businesswoman, has supported Breast Cancer Research for many years, completing several Avon and Susan G Komen walks in years past.  This year, she joined up with Kelly Lange, a stage 4 Breast Cancer patient, and formed team Save the Coconuts to raise money and walk in the Susan G Komen walk in October.

We are planning a year long campaign of fundraising, including a Luau party -- The Coconut Ball on May 31.

Check back often to see what we are currently involved in.

Come Walk with Us!
Don't want to commit to the 3 day walk?  Come join us on our training walks with no commitment ... simply email Marie to get access to our group calendar.  We walk a variety of distances in and around the Annapolis area, and there are usually a number of walks per week.
Our Sister Team - Blister Sisters

Congratulations to the Blister Sisters for raising more than $60,000 for breast cancer research!!

The Blister Sisters was formed by Nicole Weaver, an Annapolis resident who was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer in September 2007. Nicole has been undergoing chemotherapy since early November and yet has been able to live an almost normal life because of the availbility of recently released drugs to combat nausea and fatigue, two of the most debilitating side effects of the chemotherapy treatments.  Impressed and grateful, she decided to raise money for breast cancer. Promptly joined by a host of energetic and enthusiastic friends, she established the Blister Sisters team to participate in the Avon Breast Cancer Walk in Washington DC in May 2008.

When Nicole and Marie discovered each other's efforts, they decided to work together on fundraising activities and the two teams have been working closely together ever since.  Marie and Nicole also agreed to join the other's team. Hence we have two teams, two walks but one important cause.
